    I like your reasoning but I think when it comes to smarts and also the open mindedness, we lack in those as well. I feel sometimes while we are taught to be really conservative, we can be on the wild side too. Or maybe the nerves never got better afterall.

    Actually, I dont think the reason why we will never win Miss Universe lies just in the visual aspect. Surely thick lips and generous assets will get you only so far. Think about the backlash the Miss Universe contest receives from Singaporeans and compare that with other countries which have grooming schools specially for such contests. There are drop dead gorgeous Singaporean ladies, most just dont take part. This topic has been talked about since forever but lets give the contestants a break please. I believe they are doing Singapore a favour by putting us on the world map so let's not harp on whether we win or not.
