But it doesn’t hide the fact that the world of otaku has made a huge impact on the lives of thousands of Filipino teens, rich or poor: laughing, crying and even falling in love with it, just like how their favorite anime characters would. Otaku has showed them their worth, that they could be good in something, that they could still make friends and experience human emotions.
